Help

The questions people ask most. If yours is not here, email support@klirapp.com and we will answer it.

Is my data safe, and can Klir move my money?

No, Klir cannot move your money. The bank connection is read-only, so Klir can see your accounts and your charges and do nothing else with them. It holds no password and no permission that would let it move, send, or spend a cent. That is not a promise about how carefully we behave. It is the limit of what the connection is able to do.

Your bank login never reaches Klir at all. You type it during the connection, on a screen Klir does not run and cannot see, and Klir receives a token that only reads.

How do I connect my bank?

On your dashboard, tap Connect a bank. Klir hands you to Plaid, the service Venmo, Robinhood, and Chime use for the same job. You sign in to your bank there rather than on Klir, which is why your password never reaches us.

Your accounts and balances appear as soon as Plaid passes them over. Older charges take longer, because Klir pulls up to two years of history on a first connection. While that is still arriving, your money screens say so at the top rather than showing you a total that is quietly short.

Why is a transaction missing or wrong?

Usually one of three things, and none of them means something broke.

  • Banks send charges to Plaid on their own schedule. A coffee you bought this morning may not reach Klir until this evening.
  • A pending charge often changes when it posts. A restaurant holds one amount and takes another once the tip is added, so the figure moves.
  • A first connection is still filling in its history. Klir shows a note while that is happening.

If a charge is in the wrong category, tap the category on the Transactions page and pick a better one. Klir remembers that choice for that merchant and uses it from then on, including for charges that arrive later.

How does Klir make money?

Right now it does not. Klir is free while it is being built, and paid plans are not available yet.

The part worth saying plainly is what will not happen. Klir does not sell your data, and you will not see ads or loan offers here. Read-only also rules out the business models that pay for some other money apps, because Klir cannot take a cut of a payment it is not able to touch.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Go to Settings and use Delete your account. Klir asks you to type DELETE first, because one tap should not be enough for something this final. When you confirm, every bank is disconnected at Plaid straight away, and your charges, balances, budgets, notes, and login are deleted. It cannot be undone.

If you want a copy first, Export my data on that same page downloads every charge Klir holds, as a spreadsheet file. The delete screen offers the same download, and never requires it. That file covers your charges, so if your budgets or your notes matter to you, copy those down separately before you delete.

How do I reach you?

Email support@klirapp.com. A person reads it. If a number looks wrong, say which screen you were on and roughly when you saw it, and name the merchant if it is about one charge. That is usually enough for us to find it.
